Gov. Idris Fulfills Pledge, Appoints 5 PWDs As Special Assistants

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris has fulfilled his pledge to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) by appointing five of them as Special Assistants (SAs).

The appointments were confirmed in a statement signed by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser (SA) to Kebbi state Governor on media and publicity.

The letters of their appointment were signed by the Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, SSG, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida and immediately released to the beneficiaries on Wednesday.

In order to ensure justice, equity and fairness, the five appointees were drawn from the four Emirates of the State, namely; Gwandu, Argungu, Yauri and Zuru .

It will be recalled that the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, had vowed to appoint PWDs in the state during a BBC Hausa interactive programme “A Fada A Cika’ with the executive Governor on Monday 1st Jan., 2024 following a complaint to him by some persons with Disabilities.

Letters of their appointment were presented to the appointees by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Kebbi State Governor and Alhaji Aminu Ambursa, APC leader, Persons with Disabilities flanked by the National Chairman of Joint Association of Persons with Disabilities, Abdullahi Birnin Kebbi.

INN reports that a bill for the establishment of Commission for PWDs has been sent to the Kebbi State House of Assembly for ratification.
