AS A MATTER of fact, we are all emotional beings- constantly churning out foibles, operating in a whirlpool of emotions. There’s not a single person on Earth who isn’t emotional. However, some individuals have used various tools and techniques to get a firm grip on their emotions and react to situations and events with calmness and equanimity.

Contrary to the widespread belief of the elusiveness of happiness, happiness, true, enduring happiness, in the midst of life’s troubles and trials, can be achieved. We can be who we decide to be, do what we want to do, and experience every happiness there ever is. But, there’s nothing more essential than having knowledge of the dynamics of the mind in order to be in charge of your emotional health.

Emotional health is the most essential, most complex, most intriguing, most captivating, but also the most interesting phenomenon of our time- there’s absolutely nothing like it. This article will also attempt to discuss relevant life skills- tools that speak to the needs that we share as human beings, including love, creativity, belonging, meaning, and purpose.

At the end of this article, you would not only understand the nitty-gritty of the dynamics and frameworks of mental wellness, including how to cope with life stressors, but also you will become equipped with strategies for a productive life that everyone emulates and is enriched by- families and real friends, the community, the nation and the world at large.

What is mental wellness?

  • Our mental wellness essentially has to do with discovering our abilities.
  • Our mental wellness has to do with our ability to cope with normal stressors, like disappointment, failure, rude attitudes, rejection, an accident, illness, and so forth.
  • Our mental wellness has to do with our capacity to work productively and fruitfully.
  • Our mental wellness is our emotional health- it hangs around our psychosocial functioning- our way of thinking, what we think, and the impacts of these thoughts on our functioning, as well as, overall, the quality of our self-knowledge.

See, you are going to have problems. You won’t always be happy. No one always is. There would be times you would feel unloved, unnoticed, underappreciated and undervalued. There would be times that you would experience betrayals, times when your very own buddy or bestie will tell you things that your biggest nemesis and critics would know have the audacity to say. But people only do that out of fear and insecurity.

With emotional intelligence, and various personal qualities, not only will you douse troubling events with charism, but you would the liking and admiration of your greatest critic.
