Kano — The Nigerian Association of the Blind (NAB), Kano State Chapter, successfully conducted its long-awaited State Council election on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Special Education School, Tudun Maliki, Kano.
The election, which began at 10:00 a.m., attracted delegates from all local government chapters across the state. It was held in a peaceful and democratic atmosphere, under the supervision of the Election Committee chaired by Shehu Musa Gora. Delegates were commended for their unity, discipline, and commitment throughout the process.
At the end of the voting exercise, the following officials emerged as the new leaders of the NAB Kano State Chapter:
Chairman: Musa Muhammad Kura
Vice Chairman: Yunusa Muhammad Yunusa Durumin Iya
Secretary: Abdulkadir Usman Dawakin Kudu
Assistant Secretary: Ali Yahaya Gwarzo
Treasurer: Yusha’u Ibrahim Kofar Waika
Public Relations Officer: Musa Usman Dala
Youth Leader: Hamza Aminu Fagge
Women Leader: Zainab Mukhtar Kumbotso
Coordinator, Kano Central: Halliru Shehu Kumbotso
Coordinator, Kano South: Abdurrazak Ibrahim Tudun Wada
Coordinator, Kano North: Ahmad Ibrahim Bichi
The newly elected council was officially sworn in by the National President of the Nigerian Association of the Blind, Mr. Blessed Onyebuchi, who was represented by the Secretary General, Mr. Dahiru Gambo Rafin Dadi.
The association expressed gratitude to all delegates, observers, and stakeholders for ensuring a transparent and successful election that reflects the unity and democratic values of the organization.
