Furaha ya wanawake wajasiriamali kwa viziwi Tanzania (FUWAVITA) is Swahili language when translated to English means “the Tanzania Joy Women Entrepreneurship For The Deaf” has received approval letter of membership from World Federation of the Deaf (WFD).
The WFD communicated the approval via a letter dated July 8, 2020, signed by it’s President, Joseph J. Murray and obtained by Inclusive News Network (INN).
The WFD noted that it’s Board approved FUWAVITA’s application as Associate Member at the 120th Meeting held on July 4.
“The WFD Board is excited to have you as an Associate Member. Your organisation’s details will be added into the distribution email list for recieving WFD newsletter and other information,” part of the letter read.
Executive Director, Aneth Ishaya in a chat with INN expressed joy saying “I didn’t believe my eyes because I even gave up because when I applied they said they would give us our status after two months but never got back and two months had passed.
“You know it was not easy.”
“Tanzania Association of the Deaf told us, FUWAVITA is a small organization and won’t get that membership and now we have proven them wrong.”
While appealing to INN to publish the good news for her, she added “this will motivate others to dare to try.
“When I received their email didn’t believe my eyes, I re-read for five (5) times to confirm if it true FUWAVITA was approved for membership. Then I shared the news with my team mate they also didn’t believe it too.
“It was just unbelievable news.”
Asked when she applied for the membership, she said “We started application in November 13, 2019. It took us 9 months to get approved.”
