The state coordinator of Zuru Patriotic Forum (ZPF), Sani Yusuf Tadi, has confirmed the receipt of N1 million donation from the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to the coffers of the N5million Appeal Fund for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Kebbi State.
According to him, the Appeal Fund with a target of N5m was established to assist victims of bandits’ attacks in Zuru, as they are scattered in Ribah, Wasagu and Diri all under Zuru emirates.
He explained that the IDPs have no permanent camp because they usually run for safety once there is an attack and return after the attack but considering their plight the Forum took an evaluation of the IDPs and had since supplied food items, detergents and toiletries for their daily use while in the camp.
Tadi, who confirmed there has never been any presence of the Kebbi State government since the camps were opened and have not received any assistance or donation from them mentioned Senator Bala ibn Na’Allah as one of the donors.
He noted that the NGO will continue to solicit more support from stakeholders and members of the public with a view to assisting IDPs who were left to their fate.
Recall that the Zuru Emirate has been the soft target of armed bandits who attack, kill and take hostage scores of hapless indigenes of Zuru, as a result, a huge number of cattle were rustled and houses burnt in the wake of unprovoked attacks by terrorists.
