GOSSA Commend Gombe Stste Government, Pass Vote Of Confidence.

The Leadership of Gombe State Students Association (GOSSA) National Secretariat had in a statement signed by the National President Comr. Aliyu Saad lauded the State Government for its most recent stride towards advancing students academic welfare. Titled: APPRECIATION AND VOTE OF THANKS TO THE GO BE STATE GOVERNMENT OVER STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIP/ WAEC,NABTEB AND NBAIS APPROVAL PAYMENT

The press release was made available to newsmen by the Association’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ibrahim Abubakar.

The publicity Secretary proceeded with the following good will message to fellow GOSSITES: “With respect to Comradeship and in the spirit of Alutaism, we are sending our warm and heartfelt greetings to all GOSSITES around the globe.”

He continues: “Today is one of the happiest weeks for Gombe State Students in both Secondary and tertiary Institutions. They ought to be proud of the administration of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya for approving the appreciable sum of #306 million for various scholarships.

“At the State Executive Council meeting yesterday, funds to the tune of One hundred and twelve million (#112 million) were released for 2016/2017 and as well 2017/2018 academic sessions scholarship for tertiary institutions and Two hundred and four Millions (204 millions) for the payment of WAEC, NABTEB and NBAIS SSCE Examinations.

It may be recalled that The National Executives of GOSSA had been trying their possible best to ensure the release of the pending funds which was put on hold for over a year, but finally granted on 18th November 2020.

It may also be recalled that the WAEC, NABTEB and NBAIS results for public school students was not released pending payment by the State government. Fortunately, that too is settled.

“At this noble juncture, On behalf of the entire students body of Gombe State, The National Executives of GOSSA, the Students Representatives Assembly, and all patriotic well wishers in the State, we are saying a big thank you to the: Honourable Commissioner, (Ministry of Higher Education) Mr Meshack Audu Loko for his tireless efforts and fatherly advice towards achieving such a milestone.”

“On the other hand, We say a big thanks to the Gombe State Executive Council for their support toward the approval of legacies in the Education sector.”

“We are also using the medium to thank all dear Gossites for their kind patience, advices and more especially, prayers. Indeed, we had the last laugh and the victory is ours together, he added.”

“Lastly, our sincere appreciation and thanks goes directly to the People’s Governor, His Excellency Gov. Alh. Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his immeasurable support towards GOSSA and Education in the State. We are indeed grateful and promise tbrbe loyal and committed all through.”

“Meanwhile, the National President of GOSSA in person of Comr Aliyu Sa’ad Hassan is calling on all GOSSITES to remain calm as the disbursement process begins any moment from now. He charged them to be up and ready – same applies to SSCE Students” he concluded.
