Lagos State, through its Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA), has unfolded plans to educate stakeholders in the disability sector on the importance of social enterprise in improving the welfare of persons living with disabilities.

He said following the impact of COVID-19, donors had become scarce, adding that service providers and homes that catered for the people living with disabilities must hone the skills of writing effective sponsorship proposal, which would not only be catchy, but must also be cultured and full of profitability.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Social Development Olugbenga Aina hailed LASODA for its commitment to the welfare of people living with disabilities, describing the forum as a step in the right direction.

Dr. Olayinka Akindayomi, Service director of Children Developmental Centre in Surulere, Lagos, said to set up a plan for engaging in efficient and effective service provider outfit, the first thing such a person must have was a passion for the people living with disabilities.
