The Nasarawa State Government has distributed food items and cash support to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across the state, in a move aimed at easing economic hardship and promoting social inclusion.
The distribution exercise, which took place on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, was carried out by the Pioneer Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Disability Rights Commission, Hon. Saleh Barde Keana, on behalf of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Barde said the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the inclusivity drive of the Governor Sule-led administration.
He explained that 20 beneficiaries drawn from different parts of the state received bags of rice and a cash grant of ₦20,000 each to support them, especially during the ongoing fasting and Lent period.
He noted that the intervention was designed to cushion the challenges faced by PWDs and reaffirm the government’s commitment to inclusive governance and social protection.
Barde urged the beneficiaries to continue to pray for the leadership of the commission and the state government, stressing that sustained support and good governance would ensure more opportunities and dividends of democracy for persons with disabilities across Nasarawa State.
