The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas, has approved the appointment of members of the Taraba State Persons with Disability Commission, marking a significant step towards strengthening disability inclusion and institutional support across the state.
A statement issued on Thursday, February 12, 2026, by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Chief Barr. Gebon Timothy Kataps, said the appointments reflect the administration’s commitment to promoting the rights, welfare, and full participation of persons with disabilities in governance and development.
According to the release, Comrade Matudi Ali (Blind) was appointed as Chairman of the commission. Other members include Adama Idris Hamza, Inu Gayus, Matthew Danladi, and Ibrahim Haruna. Also appointed as representatives of the three senatorial zones are Mary Gaissa (Taraba South), Hadiza Idris (Taraba North), and Abubakar Atiku (Taraba Central).
The governor charged the newly appointed members to discharge their duties with dedication, transparency, and professionalism, while working closely with relevant stakeholders to advance inclusive policies, improve access to opportunities, and enhance the overall well-being of persons with disabilities across Taraba State.
