Special School Old Students Association Elects New Executives in Kano

The Old Students Association of the Special Education School, Tudun Maliki, Kano, has elected new executives to steer the affairs of the association following its Annual General Meeting held on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

Ibrahim Ismail Abdallah emerged as Chairman of the association. Other elected officials include Aliyu Yahaya Mu’azu as Organising Secretary, Abubakar Muhammad Yunusa as Treasurer, Ladifat Abdulkharim Muhammad as Public Relations Officer, and Zainab Muhammad Aliyu as Women Leader.

Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony, the Chairman of the Election Committee, Comrade Abdullahi Umar Abdullahi, urged the new executives to prioritise critical challenges facing the school, particularly the shortage of braille paper for the visually impaired section.

He noted that other issues affecting the institution were also deliberated during the meeting.

Also speaking, the Principal of the school, Malam Shehu Sale, represented by the Senior Master, Malam Sadik Magaji, congratulated the newly elected alumni leaders and urged them to work closely with the school management to address its challenges.

The event attracted notable guests, including Malama Bilkisu Ibrahim of the Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies and Shehu Musa Gora, former Chairman of the Nigeria Association of the Blind, Kano State Chapter, who commended the association for its unity and commitment to the development of the school.

The outgoing Chairman, Abdulhamid Muhammad, expressed appreciation to members for their support and pledged continued cooperation with the new leadership.

The Special Education School, Tudun Maliki, caters for students who are visually impaired and deaf.
