THe Chief Executive Officer, Inclusive News Network, Sejoro Ekundayo Peter, has received community honourary award. Mr. Sejoro asked for more recognition of Persons with Disabilities after bagging the award at the just concluded Badagry Social Media Awards (BSMA) 2021.

Mr. Sejoro spoke in an interview after receiving a certificate of recognition for being among 50 most inspiring and influential young persons in Badagry during the year.

The CEO thanked Citymood Badagry for setting the pace for organizations, businesses and political institutions in Badagry by recognizing a Person with Disability among some 50 abled candidates nominated for the recognition.

However, Sejoro laments the “single” inclusion of Persons with Disabilities.

He says: “I appreciate the organizers of BSMA for counting me worthy to receive this certificate of recognition. I don’t know if I am the first among this category (PWDs) to be recognized at such event in Badagry. There’s however need to consider broader inclusion of nominees with Disabilities among the awardees.

“There are Organizations of Persons with disabilities (OPDs) of Badagry origins that are doing very well. They deserve recognition. Organizers should also consider Awards for most influential Person with Disability, Best Special School, etc.

According to Sejoro, “this laudable event is not complete if Persons with Disabilities are not well represented in nominations and votes.

Sejoro who has bagged three honorary awards this year urged other Organizations, Government and business institutions to follow Citymood’s example by recognizing People with Disabilities in their Awards.

He offered to collaborate with organizations within and outside Badagry, seeking expert input on fuller inclusion for People with Disabilities.

Sejoro called on Obas, Chiefs, chairman of Badagry Local Government, LCDAs, and political parties in Badagry to collaborate with Inclusive News Network, Association of Persons with Disabilities, Badagry Chapter, Badagry Welfare Association of the Deaf and other Organizations of Persons with Disabilities for better results.
