- Mohammed Danjuma Knocks Governor Yahaya Bello Critics
The legal practitioner and human rights activist, Mohammed Danjuma has come down hard on critics of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, who are gloating over his use of crutches, INN reports
In a message he shared on facebook, Danjuma lambast critics for making a mountain out of a mule hill over the Governor’s health condition.
Defending Gov Bello, Danjuma sarcastically replied critics saying, “Yes Governor Bello missed his step and injured a foot.
No, he’s not in a German hospital or any hospital at all,” he said.
“Yes, he uses crutches at the moment because his doctors have asked that he takes pressure off the foot to speed up recovery.”
Danjuma said all of the above were very normal and that nothing was there to worry about. “Anyone gloating is just being, well..” he said.
Further explaining the situation, he says,”There are people who live everyday on crutches. And they go through life with not much support in form of factoring them into public utilities and infrastructure. Yet, a governor who is temporarily using crutches in adherence to his doctor’s advice to take pressure off his foot is your source of joy and gloating? What happens when he drops them? What would give you joy then?” he asked rhetorically.
“Besides slipping is a more common accident than we know. On my last birthday, my hand was in a cast. When I woke up some days prior, I had no idea what excruciating pains awaited me a few hours from then. I slipped. Right in my room. Two weeks later I was fine”, Danjuma explained angrily
He also said that it was no ‘big deal’ to be using crutches. “Governors are humans, their immunity doesn’t cover mishaps”, he said.
