The Chairman of The Rotary Foundation and Past Rotary International President, Holger Knaack, and his wife, Susanne, will arrive in Nigeria on November 1 for a week-long visit dedicated to deepening Rotary’s fight against polio and expanding its life-changing health programmes across the nation.
Throughout the visit, which runs until November 7, Knaack will engage with Rotary leaders, top government officials, and key health partners—including the Federal Ministry of Health and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA)—to strengthen collaboration for improved health outcomes.
In a statement, Rotary Public Image Coordinator for Zone 22, Region 27, Ibim Semenitari, noted that Knaack will take part in a polio immunization field exercise and tour project sites of Rotary’s Programme of Scale—Together for Healthy Families in Nigeria, which champions maternal and child health in the FCT and Akwa Ibom State.
“Rotary’s work in Nigeria continues to inspire the world,” said Rotary International President-Elect, Yinka Babalola. “Our goal goes beyond ending polio—we are building systems that ensure families remain healthy and resilient.”
Rotary Foundation Trustee, Ijeoma Pearl Okoro, highlighted the impact of Rotary’s initiatives: “From life-saving vaccines to empowering mothers, The Rotary Foundation turns generosity into sustainable change. Our projects in Nigeria are a true reflection of service and compassion in action.”
The high-level visit will also feature donor appreciation events and meetings with local Rotary districts, underscoring the enduring power of partnerships in driving positive change across Nigeria.
