The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Mohammed Abba Isa, has called for empathy and solidarity with Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) as Nigerians celebrate Christmas.
In a Christmas goodwill message, Isa described the festive season as a period for reflecting on shared human values such as compassion, kindness, generosity, peace, and unity, noting that these values are vital to strengthening social cohesion and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria’s diverse society.
He urged members of the disability community, families, caregivers, and all relevant stakeholders to use the season to demonstrate care, stand together in solidarity, and support the most vulnerable, stressing the need to reinforce empathy, mutual respect, and understanding within communities.
The presidential aide reaffirmed his commitment to promoting inclusion, equal opportunities, and dignity for all persons regardless of ability, emphasizing that sustained collective efforts are required to build a society where every individual is valued, empowered, and given the opportunity to thrive.
Isa, speaking on behalf of the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, wished Nigerians a peaceful Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year, while praying for continued peace, goodwill, and progress across the nation.
