The United Nations on its 21st Session of the Committee in Geneva, Switzerland elected a physically challenged Nigerian, Mr. Danlami Basharu as the Chair, United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, a position he will chair for a two years term.
Mr. Danlami is the Director of Anglo- Nigerian Welfare Association for the blind and a former chairman, Nigerian Association of Persons with Disabilities. He was elected into UN on 11th March, 2019.
