Osogbo, March 8, 2025 — The Women Wing of the Joint Association of People with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Osun State Chapter, has joined the global community in marking International Women’s Day 2025, with a strong call to “Accelerate Action” towards gender equality, particularly for women with disabilities.
In a statement signed by the Women Coordinator, Isola Omotola Elizabeth, the group emphasized the need to break barriers that hinder the full participation of women with disabilities in education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and leadership roles.
“We must accelerate action to ensure equal access to education, healthcare, and empowerment programs for women with disabilities,” the statement read. The association also urged policymakers to enforce inclusive policies and create leadership development programs to enhance participation in decision-making processes.
JONAPWD’s Women Wing reiterated its commitment to advocating for the rights of women with disabilities and called on stakeholders to work towards a more inclusive society where every woman, regardless of ability, can thrive.
