Oluremi Tinubu Launches N1.85bn Grant for Business Owners with Disabilities

First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has unveiled a N1.85bn grant initiative aimed at supporting business owners with disabilities across Nigeria. Under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), 250 persons with disabilities in each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory will receive N200,000 to sustain and expand their businesses.

Announcing the initiative at a first-quarter meeting with governors’ wives, Mrs. Tinubu emphasized its role in empowering vulnerable groups. The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the First Lady, Mrs. Busola Kukoyi, confirmed the announcement in a statement titled, “First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Unveils New Programmes for Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in 2025.”

Beyond business support, the First Lady introduced additional programs for 2025, including the Flow with Confidence initiative, which will distribute 10,000 cartons of sanitary pads per state to promote menstrual hygiene among schoolgirls. She also outlined plans to establish climate change clubs in secondary schools and universities, with the long-term goal of setting up recycling plants nationwide to combat plastic pollution.

Mrs. Tinubu underscored the importance of environmental sustainability and youth empowerment, encouraging young people to embrace hard work as a pathway to national development.
