In a bold step towards greater inclusivity, the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji, has reinforced his partnership with the Oyo State Government to strengthen support for persons with disabilities (PWDs).
As part of this commitment, Oluyole LG has secured approval for a dedicated office aimed at improving the welfare and empowerment of PWDs within the local community. The announcement followed a strategic meeting between Olatunji and the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Barrister Ayodele Adekanbi, at the LG secretariat in Idi-Ayunre.
Olatunji revealed that the office will serve as a hub for advocacy, skill development programs, and access to government-driven initiatives tailored for PWDs. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fostering an inclusive society where every individual, regardless of physical ability, has the opportunity to thrive.
“This initiative is not just about providing a physical space; it is a testament to our unwavering commitment to ensuring that PWDs receive the support and opportunities they deserve,” Olatunji stated. “By working hand-in-hand with state agencies, we aim to create lasting, impactful programs that uplift the lives of people with disabilities.”
He further emphasized that Oluyole LG will continue collaborating with relevant government agencies to enhance the support framework for PWDs, ensuring their full integration into community development programs.
