Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, on Wednesday hosted a delegation from Lafarge Africa PLC in his office, where discussions centred on expanding empowerment opportunities for women and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
The visit came as Lafarge expressed appreciation to the ministry for supporting its 2024 Female Tilers and Block Laying Training Programme, which equipped 40 Lagos women with construction skills, breaking gender barriers in the industry.
The company also unveiled its flagship initiative, Disability to Ability (D2A), designed to train 70–100 PWDs in Lagos in digital skills, vocational trades, construction, and business development.
Ogunlende disclosed that the project would be implemented in partnership with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) and the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA), expressing optimism that the collaboration would promote inclusivity and expand opportunities for vulnerable residents.
