Nigeria’s para badminton star, Gift Ijeoma Chukwuemeka, has claimed the gold medal in the Women’s WH2 category of the Africa Para Badminton Championships 2025, after a remarkable victory over Egypt’s Shaimaa Samy Abdellatif, Africa’s top-ranked player.
The win, which took place in Umuahia, came just a week after Gift had beaten the same opponent at the First Abia Para Badminton International, reinforcing her dominance on the continental stage and underscoring Nigeria’s growing stature in para badminton.
