NDE Empowers 33,692 Youths, Women, and PWDs with Skill Training

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has trained 33,692 unemployed youths, women, and persons with disabilities in various skill acquisition programs across Nigeria.

Speaking at the resettlement event for beneficiaries under the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative in Kaduna, NDE Director-General, Mr. Silas Agara, noted that the training, which began on December 9, 2024, covered vocational skills, entrepreneurship, and business management. He emphasized that the initiative aims to create self-employment opportunities and boost job creation.

Represented by NDE’s North-West Zonal Director, Malam Shehu Danjuma, Agara highlighted that the training also included agricultural skills and public works across the 36 states and the FCT. To support participants, 5,532 beneficiaries will receive loans and starter packs to help establish their businesses.

Kaduna State Coordinator, Hajiya Halima Waziri, revealed that over 1,200 beneficiaries in the state benefited from the program. She urged participants to maximize the opportunity, as they would receive both financial aid and equipment to enhance their self-reliance.
