NCPWD Congratulates Dr. Bernard Doro on Appointment as Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction

The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) has congratulated Dr. Bernard Muhammad Doro on his appointment as the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Reduction by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued by the Commission, the appointment was described as a reflection of the Federal Government’s continued commitment to advancing inclusive development, social welfare, and sustainable humanitarian response for all Nigerians.

The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Hon. Ayuba Gufwan, speaking on behalf of the entire disability community, commended the appointment and described Dr. Doro as a strategic, experienced, and compassionate leader whose vision aligns with the goals of disability inclusion in national development.

“We are confident that Dr. Bernard Muhammad Doro will bring visionary leadership, empathy, and strong administrative competence to the Ministry. His appointment presents an opportunity to deepen our collaboration toward building an inclusive humanitarian response system where no Nigerian is left behind,” Gufwan stated.

He added that the disability community looks forward to working closely with the new minister to strengthen national programs that promote protection, empowerment, and equal participation of persons with disabilities in all spheres of life.

The Commission also reaffirmed its readiness to support ongoing and emerging national efforts targeted at poverty alleviation, social protection, emergency response coordination, and inclusive community development, in line with the Ministry’s mandate and the Federal Government’s strategic direction.

The NCPWD congratulated Dr. Doro once again and wished him a successful tenure marked by impactful reforms and national progress.
