The Nasarawa State Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) has announced special provisions to ensure full inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the ongoing recruitment exercise for secondary school teachers across the state.
In a letter addressed to the Nasarawa State Disability Rights Commission (NSDRC) and signed by the Secretary of the Commission, Ishaq S. Bage, the TSC said the move was part of efforts to promote equal opportunity and disability inclusion in public service employment.
According to the letter dated October 17, 2025, while the main application process is conducted online, the Commission has made additional arrangements to accommodate PWD applicants who may be unable to access the digital portal. Such applicants are allowed to submit their applications physically at the TSC headquarters in Lafia.
The Commission further explained that designated officers have been assigned to assist applicants with disabilities in completing their applications and ensuring that their submissions receive due consideration alongside online entries.
The TSC also sought the cooperation of the Disability Rights Commission in disseminating the information through its networks and providing technical or advisory support to ensure a smooth and inclusive recruitment process.
Reacting to the development, the Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Disability Rights Commission, Mr. Sale Barde Keana, commended the Teachers’ Service Commission for upholding the principles of disability inclusion and compliance with the 5% employment quota policy.
Keana, in a social media statement, urged interested and qualified PWDs to take advantage of the opportunity, emphasizing that the TSC has made adequate provisions to support applicants during the process.
“PWDs who cannot access the TSC online portal for registration can submit their applications physically at the TSC office in Lafia. Staff have been mobilized to help you through the process,” Keana said.
He also encouraged applicants to submit copies of their application forms and CVs to the NSDRC office along Kurunyo Road, Lafia, for proper documentation and follow-up.
Keana reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to advocating for equal access to employment opportunities and ensuring that no qualified person with a disability is left behind in the ongoing recruitment exercise.
