Katsina PWD APC Support Group Pallies With Gov. Aminu Masari

The katsina state people with disabilities (PWDs) APC support group has met with Gov Aminu Masari of katsina state to discuss issues bothering on PWDs  participation in political matters at the state House, INN reports

INN gathered this information from the message shared by Sanee Umar, the
Media Assistant to PWDs APC support group chairman

According to Umar, the meeting between His excellency, Hon.Aminu Bello Masari and disability group took place at the meeting chamber in governor house.
He said that Issues relating to politics were discussed alongside other issues outside political domain.

Umar also disclosed that PWD APC support group would have its state office,bus and other utilities as suggested by the state governor.

INN learnt, according to Umar, that the Governor was displeased with other clusters of persons with disability, with the exception of deaf people, whom he admonished to desist from street begging.

Gov Masari also promised that free education would be provided to people with disabilities at all levels.

He also said that exclusive jobs would be provided to those who are higher school certificate holders and that CVs are to be arranged and submitted with immediate effect.

He further promised that people with disabilities in katsina would be fully involved in politics at national level or otherwise.

“People with disabilities are free to run for any political positions such as councillorship, Local Government Chairmanship…”, Umar was quoted as saying.

On question about signing of the disability bill into law, carrying out its implementation and creating an independent commission headed by persons with disabilities, so that all services and programs would be sustained.

It was learnt that the disability bill had already been passed two years ago as long as the state governor is concerned, according to Umar. However, it was never Implemented nor was a Commission instituted.

“Finally, An appointment was made to select few of us are to meet with SSG and APC state chairman… to discuss issues of APC ward election and campaigns,” Umar further explained.
