JONAPWD Implores PWDs To Take Advantage Of Free UTME

The National President, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities In Nigeria, JONAPWD, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu-Usman has called on parents to mobilise their children with disabilities for free JAMB registration declared by the board.

Alhaji Aliyu-Usman who commended the JAMB initiative said the offer would serve as support in the academic pursuits of persons with disabilities in their quest for higher education.

He enjoined prospective candidates who are with disabilities to take advantage of the free registration so as not to be left behind.

“I want to call on persons with disabilities in Nigeria, especially those who had finished secondary school and have good results to quickly go and register so that we the persons with disabilities will enjoy equal right of education with our colleagues of persons with no disabilities”.

“I call on our members to participate fully.”

Alhaji Aliyu -Usman however solicited for more inclusion of persons with disabilities in decision making in the country and support for children with disabilities.

He urged the JAMB to provide disability-friendly examination materials to enhance the smooth conduct of the UTME for prospective students with disabilities.

On Monday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board announced that registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination 2024 would be free for individuals with disabilities who wish to register.
