The state chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Plateau state chapter, Shindol, Aaron Adamu has commended Governor of Plateau State, Barr Caleb Mutfwang for his empathetic disposition towards the community of persons with disabilities and for launching various initiatives beneficial to persons with disabilities in Plateau state.
He made the disclosure in a statement thanking the governor for all the interventions meant to ensure better welfare for people with disabilities.
“We also thank you for matching words with actions as demonstrated in your various interventions to persons with disabilities like the palliative hampers and the recent allocation of fertilizer to our members unlike what used to be in the past where intentions were celebrated with nothing ever coming to fruition.
“We are indeed convinced that you really meant what you said at your inaugural speech that “persons with disabilities shall no longer be treated as second class citizens but shall be given their rightful place.
“We are truly persuaded that the time is now mantra is a well thought out concept which signals the end of all manners of discrimination against persons with disabilities and a reboot of the state of affairs in our dear state of Plateau.
While listing various interventions the governor has initiated for PWDs in the state, the chairman said these achievements couldn’t have been possible if not for the governor’s empathic and a deliberate commitment towards the plights of persons with disabilities in the state.
