IWD: Lois Auta Wins Outstanding Woman Leader Award As Nominee

Cedar Seed Foundation, Chief Executive Officer and Network for Disabled Women President, Lois Auta-Udonkanta was nominated among the top three most outstanding woman leaders in Nigeria.

The recognition came at the maiden edition of the International Women’s Day Awards Gala, 2022, organized by Female Ambassadors in Nigeria, with support from the British High Commission, Abuja, the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP), United Nation Women, Ambassade de France au Nigéria and a host of others.

The awards was meant to recognize and celebrate women’s achievements. It honored individuals who have championed women’s political and socioeconomic empowerment in Nigeria.

Speaking in an interview with Inclusive News Network, INN, Auta thanked the British High Commissioner, Catriona Laing and all who nominated her among the top three women in Nigeria.

In her words, “I am thankful to them for their nomination because this story will not end in Nigeria. Many people are interested in it and I am so proud of the European Union for supporting this idea.”

Auta says the nomination is an honor, adding that it will open her to a whole new world of opportunities while giving her a much needed platform to thrive.

“Yes, it will expose me to opportunities. It will give me a platform that I need to thrive.”

Among the top three most outstanding women nominated, Ekiti State First Lady, Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Fayemi emerged winner. The Founder and Executive Director, Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC), Dr. Abiola Akiyode Afolabi was also among the nominees.
