Anambra state governor Willie Obiano was at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, venue of the 2019 Anambra State trade fair, on an inspection tour on Thursday 5th Dec. 2019 at the OGDM/JONAPWD pavilion.
Information gathered showed that the governor inspected the wares and crafts produced by entrepreneurs with disabilities at their stands, as mobilized by the office of the governor on disability matters.
Speaking, Gov. Obiano commended the resourcefulness of the group, urging them to continue making the state and the Disability community proud. He pledged full support of his administration as they strive to attain self sustainance and economic independence.
In other news, the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Anambra state chapter in collaboration with the office of the Governor on Disability matters on November 21, held a one-day capacity building workshop on agricultural best practice training for persons with disabilities in Anambra state.
The training which saw over 100 persons with disabilities drawn from various Disability cluster groups across the 21 local governments of Anambra state benefit from 3 seasoned resource persons with support from Anambra state Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Children and Women Affairs.
The areas covered in the training are Market garden, Fishery, Bee-keeping, Piggery, Poultry, Rabbitory, Snailry and Organic agriculture.
