In a gesture of support and solidarity, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has gifted a brand-new SUV to ace gospel singer, broadcaster, and founder of Fresh FM, Yinka Ayefele, days after a fire gutted his Music House complex in Ibadan.
The devastating fire, which broke out last Friday, razed parts of the Fresh FM building and destroyed equipment worth millions of naira, leaving Ayefele and his team shaken.
On Tuesday, relief came in the form of a governor’s gift. Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, Governor Makinde handed over the vehicle at the Music House, describing Ayefele as “a symbol of perseverance and an inspiration to millions.”
The visibly moved broadcaster expressed gratitude, recalling the enormous loss caused by the incident. The governor had earlier visited the station a day after the tragedy to console Ayefele and inspect the damage.
Governor Makinde reaffirmed his government’s admiration for Ayefele’s resilience and acknowledged his immense contribution to both the entertainment sector and media development in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
