According to a facebook post by one Omobosola Oladipupo and as supplied to him by an eye-witness, Herdsmen lead their Cattle to the cassava farm land of Sarafa Salawudeen and began to uproot and harvest the cassava to feed their cows, INN reports.
The eye witness (name withheld), who met them first challenged them for using and destroying someone’s farm produce to feed their cows.
According to a source, he had admonished to lead them away from the victim’s farm. He said one of the Fulani herdsmen Challenged him in their native dialect saying “Se e mo ija Fulani” (are you aware of Fulani’s way of trouble)? In heat of the argument, the farm owner, Salawudeen, arrived and insisted that they vacate his farm but rather than leave the farmland, their response was to brutalize the farmer whose cassava farm had been exhausted feeding cows. With the intervention of the villagers and other neighboring farmers, one of the herdsmen was arrested and handed over to Durbar police division while Mr Sarafadeen was taken to hospital and is receiving treatment at Accident and Emergency of Oyo State hospital.
“I call on all and sundry to rise to this matter and help request justice for this vulnerable and helpless man and other farmers in this category, Oladipupo said as he calls for urgent action against rampaging Herdsmen.

Reacting to the unfortunate development was one Mr Simeon Olukayode, who recalled the sad experience of similar attack on his family friend. He says, “Same thing happened to a Family friends who lives at Ladigbolu here, how the Fulani man attacked him inside his Farm at a Village close to Eleja along Iseyin road… The man called FM said He was in the Farm when the Fulani man with the cattle enter his farm to finish his cassava, so He decided to come out where he is to confront the Fulani man..but to our surprised the Fulani man removed His Cutlass and started fighting, thank God for this Man because He used His hands to defends himself from cutting his head but His hand was seriously wounded by the Fulani man. May God deliver us in this Country, he concluded.
