Fulani Herdsmen attack: farm owner settles out of court

INN had on Monday, 26 february reported the dastardly attack inflicted on Sarafa the Salawudeen of Onsa Otolu village. Information reaching us now is that the case have received an out-of-court amicably, INN reports

In a facebook post shared by the same Omobosola Oladipupo, he gave further updates concerning the attack by Herdsmen. Quoting him, he says “about a week ago, precisely last week Saturday, I reported a case of herdsmen attacked on the victim.The case was taken up and we ensured a thorough follow up of both the prosecution and health of the innocent victim. I’m glad to report to you that the case has been resolved”, he explained.

Elucidating further he say “…Though, we intended to ensure thorough litigation in the competent court of law, the family of the victim decided to settle for settlement with some cash and let go of the matter. So we remain helpless without choice than to let go as they insisted they are not interested in a court case.”

He said at the time of the report, the victim had regained consciousness and was doing well with his health, “kudos to staff and management of Oyo State hospital management, Oyo. Most importantly, nurses and other staff of accident and emergency unit of the hospital for the quick response and quality service delivery rendered.” He said.

Explaining the situation on the part of the Herdsmen he says, “The criminal Fulani herdsmen has fully paid the bill for both the treatment and vandalism as well as havoc caused both on human and farm land.”

“Many thanks to those who responded to the call, those who commented on the post and many others who did one thing or the other while the pressure lasted.”

Our commitments to safeguard and protect the interest of our people, particularly the less privilege and the vulnerable is rekindled” he said while showering praises on the notable figures who took interest in the matter.
