To mark the Eid-el-Maulud celebration, the Kehinde Oshilaja Foundation for People Living with Disabilities put smiles on the faces of beneficiaries in Lagos by donating walking canes and other mobility aids.
According to the convener, Kehinde Oshilaja, the gesture was part of the foundation’s outreach efforts to ease the difficulties faced by persons with disabilities, particularly in accessing essential aids amid skyrocketing prices. She urged the government to subsidise disability equipment to make them more affordable.
Guests hailed the initiative as timely and impactful. Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos Mainland, Abolanle Tajudeen, described the act as a divine injunction to support the vulnerable, while the Senior Pastor of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Irorun, Ebute Meta, Lagos, Gbenga Adelusi, encouraged others to follow the foundation’s lead.
Oshilaja also expressed gratitude to the foundation’s patrons and partners for their unwavering support and collaboration in driving the cause forward.
