The Federal Government has donated some assistive devices to persons with disabilities to aid in easing their mobility challenges and access to public infrastructures.
The donation took place at the inaugural edition of the Niger-Delta Disability Praise Festival in Port-harcourt, Rivers State.
Speaking during the festival, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Mohammed Abba Isa, who distributed the items on behalf of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu noted that Niger-Delta Disability Praise Festival has granted persons with disabilities the opportunity to showcase immense talent and resilience through music, comedy, drama, and various forms of artistic expression.
The presidential aide said the festival is not just about entertainment, it is about breaking down barriers and challenging stereotypes.
He assured that the government of President Tinubu is committed to advancing the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities, and events like the Niger-Delta Disability Praise Festival serves as a reminder of the importance of the administration’s ongoing efforts in this regard.
The Disability Praise Festival is the first edition organised by Tizis Events with the aim of harnessing the various abilities in disability; through, music, comedy, drama etc.
