It was a joyful atmosphere at Ndubuisi Kanu Park, Alausa, Ikeja, as the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) brought together children with disabilities and their families to celebrate International Children’s Day under the inspiring theme “Listen to the Future.”
Representing LASODA’s General Manager, Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mrs. Omolade Sonubi, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for championing inclusive governance and ensuring that no child is left behind in Lagos State.
Mrs. Oyetunde-Lawal emphasized that listening to the future means recognizing the voices and dreams of children with disabilities and providing them equal opportunities to grow and contribute meaningfully to society. She called on parents to nurture their children with love and confidence, and to proudly allow them to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
Also speaking, the Director of Monitoring, Evaluation and Orientation, Dr. Adekola O.T, expressed gratitude to God for the event’s success and praised LASODA’s leadership for its consistent efforts toward empowering children with disabilities. She assured that the agency will continue to champion inclusion and support initiatives that promote their wellbeing and development.
