Ekaete Judith Umoh, the Pioneer Country Director of CBM Global in Nigeria was listed alongside Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the Vice President, Mrs Nana Shettima, and other prominent women in the “Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women” in its seventh edition launched in Abuja.
The publication is a biographical compendium on accomplished women leaders in Nigeria released on March 8, to mark the 2024 International Women’s Day (IWD).
The IWD is celebrated annually across the globe to raise awareness about issues that affect women and girls, as well as celebrate women who contributed to societal development and to humanity.
The theme for the 2024 International Women Day (IWD) Celebration is: “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” focusing on economic empowerment as a catalyst for creating inclusive and fair societies.
The compendium showcased remarkable women from various fields, such as innovation, activism, government, business, and entertainment, highlighting their achievements and impact as well as challenges.
The Most prominent women shown in the compendium includes those in Hi- tech experts, pastors, politicians, teachers, activists, development practitioners, and C-suite corporate leaders.
Other notable female leaders listed are the acting Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings Plc, Bolaji Agbede, and the Minister of State for Police Affairs, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.
Ekaete Judith Umoh is a social justice activist with over 20 years of experience in disability justice and gender equity. She is the founder of FACICP Disability Plus, an organization that seeks to promote the inclusion of women and girls with disabilities in all gender and development efforts. Umoh is the first elected Female National President of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), where she led JONAPWD and allies in the struggle to signing the Nigerian Disability Bill into Law in 2019 after over 17 years of consistent advocacy.
