Disability Commission Extends Easter Greetings, Reaffirms Commitment to Disability Inclusion

by Inclusive News Network

The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) has extended warm Easter greetings to persons with disabilities and their families across Nigeria, urging citizens to embrace compassion, unity, and inclusion during the festive season.

In an Easter message signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Hon. Ayuba Burki Gufwan, the Commission described Easter as a season of hope, renewal, and love, noting that the celebration serves as a reminder that light prevails over darkness and that every individual has dignity, purpose, and a rightful place in society.

The Commission encouraged Christians to reflect on the values of resilience, compassion, and unity demonstrated through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, emphasizing that these virtues are essential in building a more inclusive and supportive society for all, particularly persons with disabilities.

Gufwan reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to protecting the rights of persons with disabilities and expanding access to education, healthcare, employment, and full participation in national life. He also called on Nigerians to use the Easter season to renew their collective resolve to build a nation where no one is left behind, while wishing persons with disabilities and their families peace, joy, and strength during the celebration.
