The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) has organized a one-day training session for its staff on fire safety management and the proper use of fire safety equipment.
The training, held on August 18, 2025, at the Agency’s premises, was designed to equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond effectively during fire emergencies.
The session was facilitated in collaboration with World of Possibilities (WOP) Fire & Security Systems Engineers. A certified fire safety engineer, Mr. Wole Adeogun, led the training, guiding participants through fire disaster management principles. He also demonstrated how to operate different types of fire extinguishers and explained the meanings of the various indicators and labels found on them.
Director of WOP Fire & Security Systems Engineers, Mr. Bayo Adedamola, in his remarks, stressed the dangers posed by fire incidents to lives and property. He underscored the need for early warning systems, including alarms, flashlights, muster point indicators, and other precautionary tools necessary for mitigating fire outbreaks.
Deputy Director of Administration and Human Resources at LASODA, Mrs. Omolola Sonubi, who delivered the vote of thanks, lauded the training as timely and impactful. She said the exercise had broadened staff knowledge on workplace safety and emergency preparedness.
