Deaf Man Allegedly Rapes 11-Year-Old Niece To Death

An 11-year-old girl, Peace, has died of complications sustained at the hands of her deaf uncle who allegedly subjected her to sexual abuse in Alimosho area of Lagos State.

Family sources revealed that Peter repeatedly defiled the little girl and her elder sister, both of who live with their grandmother.

It was learned that the victim became very sickly due to the constant sexual abuse from Peter.

According to an aunt, Peace died on March 22 while receiving treatment at a hospital.

There were claims that prior to her death, the victims aunt, in a video recording, had exposed her uncle as being responsible for her plight.

The ordeal, it was claimed, began when Peace caught her deaf uncle molesting her elder sister.

Surprisingly, the elder sister told Peter to do the same to the younger girl to prevent her from speaking out.

The attention of Mr. Ebenezer Omejalille, Coordinator of Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN) was drawn to the matter by the aunt.

She said: “Peace was very sick for some time while she was still with her grandmother.

“When her grandmother realized she could no longer cope with her deteriorating health condition, she reached out to me. I took her in on March 20. While she was with me, I discovered she had been severely sexually abused when she defecated on herself.

“I had to coax her to open up. Eventually, she opened up on how her uncle constantly molested her.”

Explaining further, the aunt revealed that before the girl died, her father had noticed she was often moody each time he visited his children at their grandmother’s place.

The father was said to have complained that each time he wanted to take his daughters to live with him, his mother would object to the point of screaming until neighbours intervened and plead with him leave the girls with their grandmother.

Unfortunately, the abuse continued until Peace developed health complications that eventually led to her death.

Lamenting the rise in domestic violence and sexual abuse of girls despite efforts by government and human rights groups to halt the menace, Ebenezer Omejalille, Coordinator of ACVPN, called for the immediate arrest of the perpetrator.
