The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has approved the distribution of relief materials to Persons with Disabilities in the state.
This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Northeast APC Zonal Disable Leader and Head of Gender and Social Inclusion, Mohammed Abba Issa.
Issa noted that Buni, after President Muhammadu Buhari’s broadcast, issued a public order restricting movement across the State aimed at curtailing the dreaded deadly Virus Covid-19, even though the State is yet to record a single case.
He noted that in compliance to that order, persons with disabilities despite the economic burden on them, adhered strictly to the order and remained home.
“To that end, the Yobe State Government in appreciating their obedience and loyalty to constituted authorities will today begin distribution of relieve materials to identified households of persons with disabilities across the state.”
“Also in compliance to social distancing principle and to reduce mobility challenges to some categories of persons with disabilities the packages will be individually delivered to the door steps of the beneficiaries.”
“By this notice I encourage persons with disabilities across Yobe state to remained calm as government is currently doing everything humanly possible to reduce the effect of this menace on us,” Issa assured.
