Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi

An Oyo State High Court on Monday summoned officials of the state government to appear before it on May 14, 2019, over a 39-acre land in Ibadan allegedly belonging to the Christian Mission for the Deaf.

A not-for-profit organisation, the Christian Mission for the Deaf, had set the disputed land aside for the construction of a university to be known as Deaf University-a specialised citadel of learning for the hearing impaired.

However, the state government allegedly commenced construction on the subject matter prompting members to suspect a forceful takeover.

The association prayed the court for an order to maintain status quo pending the determination of the motion for interlocutory injunction filed before the Court.
