The Nigeria Association of the Blind (NAB), Kano State Chapter, has congratulated Malam Yushe’u Ibrahim on his appointment as Sub-Dean, School of Special Education, Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kano.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Chairman of the association, Musa Muhammad Kura, described the appointment as a well-deserved honour and a historic milestone, noting that Malam Yushe’u has distinguished himself through integrity, resilience and service.

Malam Yushe’u, who lives with visual impairment and currently serves as Treasurer of the NAB Kano Chapter, has risen through the ranks—from a primary school teacher to lecturer, and now Sub-Dean. His progress, the statement noted, stands as strong proof that “ability, not disability, defines potential,” and serves as inspiration to many within and beyond the disability community.

The association commended the management of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, including the Provost, Dr Kabir Ahmad Gwarzo, the Dean, Malam Ali Abdu Gezawa, and the Head of Department of Special Education, Malam Abdulkadir Darma, for upholding inclusive leadership and recognizing merit above physical limitations.

Kura called on academic and non-academic staff of the College to give maximum support to Malam Yushe’u in his new role, expressing confidence that his leadership will contribute meaningfully to the growth of the institution.
