Ayaba Mutiat Ladoja, former Oyo State First Lady and wife of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, marked her milestone 70th birthday in Ibadan with a remarkable show of generosity, reaffirming her decades-long dedication to uplifting the less privileged.

To celebrate the occasion, she donated over N2 million in cash and millions worth of food items, wheelchairs, and business equipment to 16 orphanages and care homes for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

In her heartfelt address, the monarch’s wife reflected on her 30-year journey of advocacy for PWDs:

“This has become a way of life for me. They deserve love, care, and a sense of belonging in society. Disabilities can come with age, accidents, or other circumstances. We should never look down on them; instead, we must recognise their potential and help them grow.”

Her donations included N100,000 for each of 15 homes, two wheelchairs, bags of rice, cartons of noodles, and soap, as well as deep freezers and grinding machines for five vulnerable beneficiaries to kick-start small businesses.

Over 200 PWDs joined the celebration, bringing colour and joy to the day with live musical performances from members of their community.

The event also featured a lecture by the Chief Imam of Oluyole Estate Extension, Alhaji Mudashiru Bada, who praised Ayaba Ladoja as “a woman of substance and vision, a landscape of charity whose Idera De Pet project continues to bring succour to humanity.”
