The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Bauchi state chapter has appealed to the Government in Bauchi state to include Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the Palliative Committee.
The Chairman of the group Comrade Adamu Bala began by saying that the Joint National Association of PWDs in Bauchi wishes to commend His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State Sen. Bala Mohammed (Kauran Bauchi) for Constituting a State Palliative Committee to cushion the effect of the hardship brought about by Covid-19.
He however lamented the exclusion of the group as part of members of the committee.
“The non-inclusion of the Joint National Association of PWDs (JONAPWD) as members of the committee is highly surprising. All the same, considering the inclusive policy of non-discrimination against people living with disabilities as demonstrated by the present administration in the state, we believed it’s not a deliberate effort to exclude us from the system”
“Consequently, we wish to appeal to His Excellency to correct the anomaly as soon as possible” he added.
Finally he appealed to his members to give their complete support and cooperation by complying with the directives issued by the state government and other health professionals.
