FG Distributes 102 Trailer Load Of Grain To 61,538 Households, PWDs In Zamfara

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk on Friday handed over 102 trailer loads of assorted grains meant to cater to 61,538 households as palliatives for distribution to vulnerable persons, elderly and persons living with disabilities (PWDs) in Zamfara State.

Farouk made the presentation during a courtesy to the Governor of the State, Bello Matawalle at the Government House.

She thanked the Governor and the good people of Zamfara State for the warm reception accorded her and her team from the Ministry.

The Minister also expressed her heart-felt condolences and that of the Federal Government to the Government and the people of Zamfara State over the loss of lives and property as a result of the atrocities being committed by criminals masquerading as bandits in the State.

She seized the occasion to assure the Governor that the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is doing all that can be done to rid Zamfara and other states of the menace of banditry so that people can get back to their normal lives as soon as possible.

She also accompanied by the Governor to Bungudu Local Government Area to flag off the payment of Household Uplifting Programme to 130,764 beneficiaries from six LGAs who have been captured in the National Social Register and the payment of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) loans to small business holders in the State.
