Muslim Women Group (MWG) of the Community Education Resource Centre CERC, Gombe, Gombe State has pledged to donate a borehole and mosque for students with disabilities during a visit to the final year students of Special Education Centre, Gombe. The group visited the institution last week Tuesday, April 26, 2022 as part of its routine Ramadan outreach package to disadvantaged and vulnerable persons in the state.
Madam Fatimah, leader of the Group expressed immense gratitude to Almighty Allah for availing her and her team the opportunity to visit the Deaf students who were in their final year and doing tutorials in preparation for the upcoming WAEC examinations.
Mrs Fatimah who seemed pleased with conduct of the students, urged them to stay in school and focus seriously on their studies. She also prayed for guidance in their examinations.
Fatimah assured the students that her group would drill a borehole and construct a mosque for the female students hostel to solve the persistent shortage of drinking water in the centre.
Responding on behalf of the school, the principal, Special Education Centre, Mallam Saidu Jiji Gadam who was represented by his vice, Malam Muhammad Salisu, thanked the visitors for their show of affection and concern towards the students.
Salisu remarked that the door is open for any organization or individual who wish to assist the school.
He also appreciated the Group for food items donated to the students and the pledge for a borehole and mosque for female students of the institution.
