USAID Office of Transitional Initiative assures of partnership with Plateau Disability commission.

USAID Office of Transitional Initiative, OTI, under the Nigerian Early Recovery Initiative (NERI), Friday, paid a courtesy visit to the Plateau State Disability Rights Commission at the office complex in Jos.

The team was led by (NERI) program coordinator Mr Sendi Dauda, who was warmly recieved by the chairperson, Hon Kyennan Mizim, secretary, Mr Carl Gurumyen as well as board members and directors of the commission.

Mr Sendi Dauda highlighted the motive of the visits, and assured partnership with the commission through NERI to strengthen community resilience to conflict, and supports conflict intervention mechanism and also to create parallel stabilization initiative with focus on peacebuilding and social cohesion of persons with disabilities in Plateau State who have been displaced, living in host communities or at various stages of early recovery and voluntary or safe durable solutions.

The chairperson of the commission thank NERI for identifying with the commission and assured commitment to protecting the lives and social welfare of persons with disabilities in Plateau state.

She also applauded the Plateau state government in her remark and thank the disability friendly Governor, Hon Barr Simon Bako Lalong for appointing her to carry the affairs of the commission accordingly.
