In its efforts to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Disability Rights Advocacy Center (DRAC), a community based organization, has established wash points in 7 special schools and 20 communities in the FCT.
The group made this known in tweets shared on Saturday. The project was supported by FCDO through CBM UK.
DRAC stated that it had always prioritized the safety of learners, especially those with disabilities, within their school environment.
“To keep them safe during this pandemic, we are proud to have been able to establish wash points in 7 special/inclusive schools where we work in the FCT.
“A major thrust of our work is community based. We therefore want to support our community stakeholders to stay healthy during this pandemic.
“To this end, we regularly distribute personal protective and hygiene packs to our beneficiaries and stakeholder communities”.
“Now DRAC is proud to announce the setting up of wash points in 20 communities in the FCT where we work.” It tweeted.
