Saving Grace For Sokoto PWDs As Gov. Tambuwal Clears Five-month Unpaid Allowance Arrears.

by Inclusive News Network

The Sokoto State Government, through the able Office of the SA to the Governor on Disability and Special Needs, Hon Abdul-azeez Ibrahim, has moved in to clear five month unpaid allowance arrears to PWDs in the State. The accumulated monies totaled #32,500 for each beneficiary.

The move was made on the advice of Abdul’azeez to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Mutawallen Sokoto) that the unpaid five month allowances be paid one-time in order to empower the recipients with seed capital for small and medium scale enterprises.

The Special Adviser remarked that the gesture was aimed at putting smiles on the faces of PWDs by giving them a lifeline to venture into petty trade for self reliance.

According to the disbursement team, payment of the funds will take place in all 23 LGAs of the State, of which about 80% were already cleared.

However, it was revealed that for reasons of equitability, the funds will only be distributed to beneficiaries in each LGA who are yet to collect their monies for the last five months.

The elated beneficiaries commended the gesture and wished their Governor (the Mutawallen Sokoto) good luck in his political career.
