A few weeks ago, Dana Air was in public opprobrium for glaring discrimination against two Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) on wheelchair. The attendant outrage over the incidents seem to have got the airline on the path of sober thinking – with a determination to redeem its image through a renewed drive in its priority services for Persons with Disabilities.
In a social media post shared on Friday, Barr. Catherine Edeh, founder of Voice Of Disability Initiative, and a notable name in the local disability community commended the embattled airline for its priority services.

Barr. Kate, as she is fondly called said she was impressed with the priority services for PWDs experienced at Dana Air. “I flew Dana Air to Enugu today and I must admit I’m impressed with the priority services experienced. Well-done Dana Air”.
While encouraging Persons with Disabilities to continue the advocacy approach for a more inclusive society, the lawyer with disability said: “Truly, advocacy works! Had the PWD community kept mum on rights violation and discrimination against PWDs by Dana Air and others, such treatment would have continued unabated.
“Dear PWDs, when the society discriminate against you, speak out. Let’s build a better and inclusive tomorrow where no one is left behind”, was her parting shot.
