The Lagos State Chapter of the Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria (SCIAN) successfully conducted election of a new Executive Board which is expected to manage the affairs of the association for the next four years (2021-2024).
The election was held via webinar virtual meeting on Saturday, 19 December, 2020.
Peaceful and devoid of rancour, observers during the election included 2nd Vice Chairman, JONAPWD, Lagos State Chapter, Mrs. Ajewole Folakemi and her Secretary General counterpart, Mrs. Franca Annaedum, amongst others who supervised the election.
List of the new Executive members:
State Chairman – Abdulwahab Matepo
1st Vice Chairman – Caroline Okeke.
2nd Vice Chairman – MacHumprey Omoneki
General Secretary- Austin Egeonu
Assistant General Secretary – Oluwatobi Oladiji
Treasurer – Taiwo Ayininuola.
Financial Secretary – Samuel Ariyo
Social Secretary – Adewale Shittu
Welfare Secretary – Ezinne Onuoha
Publicity Secretary – Funmilayo Mobolaji
Sports Secretary – Okunola Lawal.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Abdulwahab Matepo, who was overwhelmingly voted for a second term in office said he looked forward to a robust working relationship in synergy with other disability clusters, JONAPWD, Lagos State as well as Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA), State Government, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
He thanked his colleagues who voted him, with a promise not to disappoint.
